How to actually apply for a Universal Bedford job

Worth knowing. Work out which of the two you are before you spend time applying. It is the single most common mistake people make with a project like this.
What to do now
The project runs to 2031, so the useful thing to do today is get into a position where you are ready when your phase arrives, rather than refreshing a careers page for three years.
In rough order of usefulness:
- Register on Universal's official careers platform for alerts
- Get the card or ticket your target role needs — that is usually the actual blocker
- Follow the main contractors once they are announced, and the local construction recruiters
- Watch Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire announcements on local employment and training schemes
- If you are aiming at a resort role, get relevant experience locally now — hospitality, retail or customer service all count
What to expect from the process
Large operators typically recruit operational staff through assessment days rather than one-to-one interviews, particularly for high-volume roles. Expect group exercises, scenario questions and a strong focus on attitude and reliability rather than experience.
For safety-critical roles like ride operations, training after hiring is extensive and rigorous. That is also why those roles are open to people with no experience — they would rather train you their way.
